I relocated to Florida from Long Island New York June of 2013 and have never looked back. Having been born and raised on Long Island I thought it would be a hard move, but was proven wrong. It's a pleasure driving without the heavy traffic and pot holes often encountered on Long Island. There are things I miss, like a good bagel, but it's a small price to pay. I also love selling Real Estate in Florida. It is a much quicker process than in New York, with most closings happening in 30 days. The taxes on homes are lower as are the prices. There is also a slew of new construction homes available, along with many renovated older homes.
